Perched along the rugged coast of Maine, Acadia is the only U.S. National Park in the Northeast. Uniquely divided
into three sections—two islands and a peninsula—it offers a striking mix of mountain, forest, and ocean all in one
place. The main portion of the park, on Mount Desert Island, is especially worth exploring. I highly recommend the
scenic drive up Cadillac Mountain, particularly at sunrise or sunset for spectacular views.
Culinary tip: After a hike around Jordan Pond, don’t miss the best lobster roll I had in the Northeast — served at the Jordan Pond House — the perfect reward for a day of exploring.
